HELP FAST EMERGENCY!!!!!!!!!?
Ok im going on a backpacking trip, kinda. its only 2 days and i'm packing ULTRAlight, I have a backpack, sleeping bag, and first aid kit, shoes, stove and all the cloths, Does anyone have a link for a tent, we want to rent a 2 Person Tent. Ultralight remember? Any thing else i want to bring, oh ya i need a water purifier too,so a link for that would be GREAT! I don't want to spend to much money, so even a outlet store would work, and i'm going in washington
Look for "Tube Tent". It is the epitome of ultra light shelter. Basically it is a plastic tube through which you pass a rope tied to two trees. You then sleep inside the tube. They cost about $6 at REI. Note that this type of tent is not designed for comfort, but it is just about the lightest tent you will find anywhere. They are use and dispose Tents.
For water purification, since you don't want to invest a lot of $$, I'd look at iodine tablets or other forms of chemical purification. There are filters out there, but they run about $60-$120. Check out www.rei.com for ideas and then see if you can't find them other places for a better price.
Sometimes you just have to keep an eye out for deals. I found my 2 man Backpacking Tent for $20 at Sports Authority in LA. Normal price was $50 and it weighs under 2 lb including poles.
