I'm off inter-railing this summer, looking for a 2man tent lightweight and spacious as possible! below 2.5kg.
Has to be well ventilated for summer, lightweight, easy to pitch, good size vestibule, and hopefully below the £200 price mark. I've seen coleman sell quite cheap but also looked at vaude, north face etc. Some advice on brands, models and experience would be great. Also any info on types of stoves good for inter-railing would be great. also (!) any general interrail tips would be very much appreciated!

Camping hints:

Carry some kind of urinal -- there may be times when you just don't want to leave your tent.

Don't eat smelly foods in your tent. It will make your tent smell like food, then little animals will smell it and chew holes in your tent.

Any suggestions on a tent for my sidecar convertible crib???
We have a sidecar situation for our 8 month old daughter and it has been working great. Sooner or later she will want to climb out of her crib and might hurt herself doing just that. So we want to get a tent for the crib.
Seperate bed is not an option for us, right now.
I have read other answers but none for "sidecar" crib... I dont know if tent will be as secure with one side down..
Please help !!

I have a side car crib, one side is against the bed, two sides are against walls and I have a highboy (tall dresser) blocking the foot.

You can also put the mattresses on the floor instead.

Edit to add:

Apparently the other poster didn't have a son that liked to run at the foot of crib at full speed. Also my son goes to bed before me.

Rock Garden Ponds and Waterfall Designs

Just about anyone in the word can build a great rock garden pond and waterfall because it's really inexpensive to do and doesn't require very much instruction. Having a pond as a centerpiece to your rock garden will make your landscape stand out.

The important thing to keep in mind here is that for a novice, you will have to contend with a lot of engineering because it really isn't "simple" to have a pond that doesn't leak. The first thing you should consider is the land.

Since you're going for a pond and waterfall, you're going to need lots of space for it. Find some good level land and clear away all of the debris and vegetation. You also don't want it to be near drain pipes or rain run-off so that you keep your pond safe from contaminates.

If you build your pond too close to trees, you'll have to continuously take dead leaves and other tree matter. Putting your pond in a place where it will get a lot of direct sunlight will aid in plant growth.

Rock Garden Pond and Waterfall Layouts

Once you have your land set aside, you're going to need to decide what kind of pond you'd want. Do you want to have fish or plants in the pond? If you make your pond too small, then it could be or become uninhabitable for your fish and plants.

It's almost better to have too large a pond that one that is too small. It would be very difficult at best to make enough room for your vegetation. Now that you have decided where you want your pond, you're going to cordon off the area so you can visualize your project better.

Trace the area you want by driving a stake in the ground, then tying adjacent stakes together with some nylon cord. When you have the entire area cordoned off, dig down about six inches for the first shelf. This is called the coping shelf.

Then dig down twelve more inches and this is your second shelf and about another six inches for the base of the pond. You have these different shelf positions because you're going to have different fish and plants at each level. A larger pond is going to be more stable and easier to keep without worrying about your plants and fish dying off.

Finishing Touches to Your Rock Garden Pond or Waterfall

After you've dug your hole, fill it with soft sand and pack it down really tightly. You want about a one half inch thickness with the soft sand. Going to a home improvement store or a pond supply store would probably be the best bet to find materials for your pond at this point.

You'll need a pond liner, and you can usually determine your pond liner's size by taking the largest length and width, then calculating the depth and twice what you dug. This will ensure you have the size of pond liner you'll need.

After removing your shoes, take the liner you bought and lay it on the bottom, then work it into the shelves you made. Be careful to follow the contours of the pond. After you have lined the entire pond, then it's time to fill it.

The waterfall is usually bought as a kit. You'll want to decide the best way to integrate the waterfall into the pond. Most of the shops where you buy the waterfall will have books on how to do this type of integration.

Along the border of your pond, pile small rocks and stones along the outside of it and on some of the other shelves. This is to trap the liner so it doesn't get unattached and ruin your little pond. Now you can add plants and fish to add to the attractiveness of your pond.

71 BUS...can i flip/switch pop-tops for upper bunk?? Canvas for rear bed extension anyone have to pattern?
such a waste of space... i would love an upper bunk...that suicide hammock is just that...lol...would be nice to take another couple camping....is it possible to switch tops?...i was told my roof is not flat like the laters...but couldn't u manipulate foam under cushions to make level??....i know there is a flip down (forward)foot piece that i will need to get...and the support bar holding that

Looking for a place to have affordable, outdoor wedding in CT?

Help On Vans Warped Tour 2009?!?!?
okay so this is my first time going to the Vans Warped Tour.
my date is july 14 at the merriwheater post pavillion in Columbia Maryland.
I have a few questions:
What should I wear?
I want to get their at like 7:45 am (yes crazy early, but I wanna be first to get it.) is that bad?
How do you find out what bands are playing?
the bands I want to see most are:

There for tomorrow
any chances that those will be playing at the same time?
if so, that would suck.

most i have to say is have fun,im going to the show on july 16 in buffalo im going to tell you how it is:
tickets are around like 25.50 and all the taxes so it should come to like 30 something its not that bad but anyways.
ok make sure you get a good nights sleep the night before because your going to need all your energy.wake up at least 2 hours early so im saying around like 9am maybe even 8 take your time with hair and getting dressed,make sure you leave your house early as well due to traffic jams ,its cool to have a friend with you to talk with, so im hoping that you have that,ummm bring a small drawstring bag that goes on your back, it will keep you from carrying way to much that, thats where i went wrong the first time that i went, i had way to much stuff and it ways you down the whole day,i also had my mom drop me and my friend off and stuff because parking like i said kinda hard but not 2 bad.umm as for stuff to wear the day of the show,cool clothes,like tank tops and shorts maybe carpies,jeans in the summer is a no because its way to hott,but if you wanna rock them then go for it. wear sneakers,flats start to hurt after awhile and flip-flops are not cool they just fall off and if you are planning to go in any mosh pits they fall off 2,so wearing sneakers is the best way to go:) umm warped tour is packed with alot of kids but after awhile you wont notice it,i really enjoyed myself the past few times that i went, i got to meet really cool people in the area that had the same likes as me, i got to meet my favorite bands as well as take pictures and stuff,yes there is a line you have to get in there and wait,if you scope the place out first you will see at the merch tables that the bands will have meet and greets at times write down the times if its a popular band you will be waiting there for awhile so get there at least 45mins to 1 hour before they start signing,some people wait there for more then that but its up to you as for what to bring, money is a must, i would say at least 100 to get you by the whole day because there is going to be alot of stuff that your eyes are going to fall in love with and that you are going to wanna get and if you don't have enough money then thats going to suck, merch is cheap at warped tour shirts run at 15 or 20 or just bring the amount of money that you would like,don't bring things that are going to get lost easy like ipod and what ever more you have that you would not wanna lose,cell phone just in case you get lost with the person that you came with and to set up your ride if you need one, ummm bring some water because its really hott, as for the whole cap thing it much be sealed or they wont let you bring it in, drink alot of water so you wont pass out that would not be cool drinks at warped tour can get expensive at times, sunglasses for the sun, sunscreen so that you wont come back home with sunburn,as for the pits there are a few depending on the bands some more hardcore then others,if you wanna get to the very front make sure you get to the stage early like if you ahev to stay for a whole nother bands set do it its worth the wait,you just walk up to the front and get ready for one amazing show,umm yea i think thats it, well thats all that i can think of i hope you have fun this year because i know that i will

Many people think of tents as something you use to go camping. Well, that is true, but these days, they have other uses as well. A truly Large Tent can also be used for a wedding, a reception, party, a commercial or corporate function, and festivals and fairs. These commercial tents are as small as ten feet by ten feet, all the way up to ones that are one hundred feet wide! And, they can be either clear span (with no poles), the fancy tension tents, or the traditional pole variety.

In addition, many commercial tents come with flooring, lighting, heat and a stage. Conventional Tents for Your Camping Needs

Then there are the standard tents of commercial grade: the ones for a family camping trip. You can buy or rent small standard tents that simply lay out on the ground and have poles for support, or you can step up a bit on the scale of fanciness. There are tents that literally set themselves up when you pop them out of the box! Some commercial tents even come with miniature air conditioners.

Next, there are larger tents for families with a couple of kids. Will My Cat haver Her Babies soon?
My cat is 67 days pregnant,
she lost her mucus plug 3 days ago.
yesterday she began having a clear discharge and meowing at me (not howling like a heat cry, just a regular meow)
today she was in her nest (She likes for me to sit in the closet with her) and she let out a loud cry 3 times and then began to pant only for a min tho,
there were a couple wet spots on her bedding about the size of a half dollar with redish tent to it, I wouldn't say it was blood at all. was this her water breaking?
she is still spending alot of time in her nest and wants me in there with her, she keeps coming to me wanting me to follow her into the closet.
but she hasn't been panting anymore or crying just sitting in her nest.
How long will it be?
should she be having regular contractions?
or is this early labor instead of hard labor like I thought?

She is in labor now. Cats are in labor for a few days. With her going in her nest always wanting you for comfort shows she is in pain and that her kittens will be arriving soon.

The hour that she would be having them most cats howl really loud and act un normally and just want their owners to sit there with them.

So soon she will be popping them out.

Buying a used Tent Trailer - what features to look for?
We're thinking of buying a second-hand tent trailer, but we are not sure what features people would recommend and what to avoid. Any advice?

*New details added: Thanks so much for all the great responses! We don't have a specific make/model in mind as we're still doing research on pricing and options. We're up in Canada, so an A/C would be wonderful in the summer, but I would also like a furnace to extend the camping season into Spring and Fall seasons.
We only have a mini-van, so we won't be able to tow (or afford) any of the bigger units - probably 10 ft box without any slide outs.

Excellent advice above about making sure you have enough tow vehicle!!! What will you be towing with and what is the trailer rated at? We bought a rather large pop up and towed it with a minivan (without a brake controller) and I was a stressball the whole time towing... in fact I got in a few hairy situations (i.e. trying to stop at a red light at the bottom of a hill after cresting at the top... didn't think I would make it (but did))... so I bought an F-150 with a brake controller and towing is actulally a joy now... using the trailer brakes makes a world of difference...

You don't say what make of pop up it is... that's important because then we can give you advice on how to check out the lift system to make sure it is working ok... add that the advice above about checking the condition of the canvas material (make sure it isn't musty too... as canvas that was allowed to stay wet can rot the threads that hold it together)...

Nice features to have... A/C (especially in the South)... a furnace, some people like having a propane/AC refrigerator (some don't), a cassette toilet is nice (but not a must... a porta potti will work too), slide outs etc etc... it's all based on your preferences and how much you want to spend...
